Invitation for Bid Application for Fertilization Foreign
The Federal
Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has allocated foreign currency for
the importation of fertilizer.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MoARD) hereby
invites all interested eligible importers to submit their offers for
the importation of 75,000MT=15% DAP fertilizer in three lots.
Detailed guidelines and standard bid documents can be collected
payment of non-refundable Birr 400 or USD 50 from the Finance
Department of MoARD.
All eligible
importers must submit unconditional proof of financial capability
for the importation of the fertilizer. Failure to submit this
financial proof will lead to an automatic rejection.
All bids shall
be submitted in sealed envelopes marked “Application for foreign
fertilizer procurement No. MoARD/FFPC/D/ICB/001/2007” and addressed
to MoARD, Fertilizer Foreign Procurement Committees, Addis Ababa.
All bids must be accompanied by a 1% bid bond of the import value in
an acceptable from such as CPO, or Bank guarantee only and must be
submitted on or before 2:00 P.M. September 20, 2007 which is the
closing and opening date of the tender.
Bids shall also
be accompanied by oversea supplier’s bid security equivalent of USD
1 per MT in the form of Bank Guarantee. Bids shall be opened and
read in the presence of bidders or their authorized representatives
at 2:00 P.M. on September 20, 2007 at the
Agricultural Input Market Departement of MoARD, located at the 9th
floor of the former Coffee and Tea building. The MoARD reserves the
right to reject or accept any or all of the bids.
