Procurement of Substation Equipments

1. The
invitation for bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this
project that that appeared in Development Business, issue No. 679 of
16 May 2006.
2. The
Federal Government of Ethiopia has received a credit form the
International Development Association toward the cost of Electricity
access expansion project, and it intends to apply part of the
proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for
procurement of Substation Equipments tender No. EAREP 10/99.
3. The
Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation now invites sealed bids from
eligible and qualified bidders for design, manufacturing, tests, and
supply of equipment CIP sites, testing and commissioning of
132/33kv, 132/33/15kv, 66/33/15kv and 66/33kv substations at Bahir
Dar, Dangla, Dabat, Debre Markos, bitchena, Amiga, Adwa, Assela,
Melka Wakena, Shashemene, Wolayita Sodo, Hosaena, Adamitulu, Hormat,
Ghedo, Dembi Dolo, Gambela substations without erection and civil
works.

4. Bidding
will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding
(ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines:
Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all
bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.
5. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the
bidding documents at the address below (address 1) from 8:00 A.M. up
to 5:00 P.M. from Monday to Friday:
6. A
Compete se of bidding documents in English may be purchased by
interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the
address below (address 2) and upon payment of a non-refundable fee
ETB 1000 or in USD 115 from the Ethiopian electric power
corporation, procurement division, head office. The method of
payment shall be in cash or cashier’s check.
7. The
bidding document may also be sent by airmail or carrier service for
overseas bidders who cover all carrier costs in addiction to the
above fee.
8. Bids
must be delivered to the address below (address 2) at or before
October 29, 2007, 14:00 hr. LT. Electronic bidding will not be
permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the
presence of the bidders/representatives who choose to attend in
person. Bids will be opened at EEPCo Head office employee club, De
Gaulle Square on October 29, 2007, at 14:30 hr. LT. All bids must be
accompanied by a bid security not less than 2% the bid price in ETB
or in any freely convertible currency.
