1. This
Specific Procurement Notice follows the General Procurement Notice
for this project which appeared in Development Business Issue No.
541 dated 16th July 1999.
2. The
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) has received a loan
from the African Development Fund in the amount of UA 27 Million
towards the cost of the national Livestock Development Project, and
intends to apply part of the proceeds of the loan to cover eligible
payments under the contracts for the supply of Sixty Seven (67)
units of Motorcycles with Accessories and Field Kit of Spare Parts.
3. The
Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Development now invites sealed
bids from prospective bidders for the Sixty-Seven (67) units of
Motorcycles with accessories and Field Kit of Spare Parts.
Bidding is open to all bidders from Eligible member counties as
defined in the ADB’s Rules of Procedure for the Procurement of Goods
and Works.
4. Complete
set of bidding documents (and additional copies) may be purchased
from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural development, Procurement
and Property Administration Department, Foreign Procurement
Division, Room No. 16, located at Kazanchis, Telephone +251-1-1515
55 82/550 69 96, Fax +251-11-551 89 77, P.O. Box 62347, Addis Ababa,
Ethiopia upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 100 (One
Hundred Birr) or its equivalent amount in a freely convertible
currency for each set. Interested eligible bidders may obtain
further information and inspect the bidding documents at the same
address.
5. The
Instruction to bidders and General Conditions of Contract contained
in the bidding documents comply with the Bank’s Standard Bidding
Documents for the Procurement of Goods, July 2000.

Bids shall be valid for a period of 120 (One Hundred Twenty)
days after bid opening and must be accompanied by a security
deposits in the amount of Birr 5,000 (Five Thousand Birr) in local
currency or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency in the
form of bank guarantee, Cash Payment Order, Certified Check or Cash
and be delivered to the above address on or before 10:00 A.M. local
time on 20 March 2007. Bids will be opened in the presence of
bidders/representatives who choose to attend in the above office on
20 March 2007 at 10:30 A.M. local time.
7.
Any bid received later than the deadline for submission of
bids will be rejected. |
