1. The
Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) has
received a loan and a grant from the African Development Fund in the
amount of UA 32.3 million towards the cost of education III project
and intends to apply part of the proceeds of the funds to cover
eligible payments under the contract(s) of the construction of seven
(7) in the Gambella Region.
2. The
Gambella National Regional State Education Bureau now invites sealed
bids from prospective bidders for the construction of any or all the
primary schools listed below with the maximum number of bids a
contract an participate being limited to four (4) each constituting
a single lot/contract. Bidding is open to all contractors in GC 6 or
BC 6 category and above, who have been registered with the Ministry
of Works and Urban Development of FDRE and have renewed their
licenses for the current year 2006/2007.

3. Bidding
documents may be obtained at the Engineering Dep’t of Bureau of
Education (Tel. 0475 57 12 36, P.O. Box 35) upon submission of a
written request to Bureau of Education and upon payment of a
non-refundable fee of Birr 100 for each lot and set. Interested
bidders may obtain further information at the office.
4. Bids
shall be valid for a period of 120 calendar days after bid opening
and must be accompanied by security of Birr 1% of bid amount in the
form of cash, or cash payment order (CPO), or Bank Guarantee
valid for a pried of 28 days beyond the date of bid opening. Bids
shall be delivered to the above office on or before 10:00 A.M. after
45 calendar days from the date of publication of invitation to bid
on newspaper.
5. Bids
will be opened on the same date as the bid closing at 10:30 A.M. at
the above address in the presence of the bidders or representatives
who wish to attend the opening ceremony.
6. The
Bureau has the right to reject any or all bids.
