NOTICE
OF INVITATION FOR BIDS OF
A COMPLETE CEMENT PLANT AT ETHIOPIA
ETHIO CEMENT PROJECT
Ethio Cement Plc
has finalized preparations to launch a bid for the establishment of
a 2000 tons/day cement production plant in the Oromia Regional State
at Chancho, located at 40 km North of Addis Ababa on the Addis Ababa
to Bahir Dar Trunk Road.
The Ethio Cement
Project Will be carried as a turnkey project involving engineering,
design, construction, supply, erection and training of personnel in
one package.

1) Ethio
Cement Plc, a private investment company constituted under the law
of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia
2) Ethio
Cement Plc. Hereinafter named the Owner, now invites sealed bids
from bidders who fulfill the following requirements for the
engineering, design, construction, supply, erection and training of
the Owners personnel on turnkey basis for a 2000 tons/day clinker
production and packing plant.
I.
Bidders shall have been continuously engaged in the last
seven years in cement plant manufacturing and erection technology,
II. Bidders
shall have completed the engineering, design, construction, supply,
erection and training of at least one cement plant having equivalent
scope with 2000 tons/day clinker production plant in the last five
years.
III. Bidders
shall have the necessary finance, personnel, plant and equipment,
and technology to undertake the cement plant establishment.
3. Bidding
will be conducted in accordance with the open international
tendering procedures set out in the bidding document.
4. Interested
eligible bidders who fulfill the above requirements may obtain
further information from Ethio Cement Plc. And inspect the bidding
document at the address given at 7) below from 9:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. (in the morning)
and from 1:30 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. (in the afternoon).
5. A
complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by
interested eligible bidders at the address indicated in 7(b) below
and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Two Hundred Birr (ETB
200.00) starting from July 25, 2007. The method of payment will be
in Cash deposit upon purchasing of the documents at the address
specified in 7 (a). The document shall be collected by authorized
representatives or authorized agents of the eligible bidders. No
liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.
6. Bids
must be delivered to the address below at 7(a) at or before 3:00
P.M. on September 8, 2007. All bids must be accompanied by a two
percent (2%) bid security in Ethiopian Birr or an equivalent amount
in a freely convertible currency. Late bids shall be rejected. Bids
will be opened in the presence of the bidders/ representatives who
choose to attend at the address below at 7(a) at 3:00 P.M. on
September 8, 2007.
