The Government
of the federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) Road Fund
Administration has allocated sufficient budget towards the cost of
construction of the under listed projects and intends to apply part
of this budget to payments under these contracts.

2. The Ethiopian roads authority now
invites bidders to submit sealed bids for providing the necessary
labour, material and equipment for the construction of the above
mentioned contracts, which fulfills the following criteria,
In case of Ethiopian bidders,
registered contractors of Category GC-1 or RC-1 with their trade
license valid for the year 1999 E.F.Y., registered for VAT and TAX
clearance certificate.
In case of bidders other than
Ethiopian; any relevant professional practice certificate and its
trading license or equivalent.
3. Interested eligible bidders may
obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at
the address given below from 8:30 to 12:30 A.M. and 1:30 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. on Fridays
local time.

interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the

4. Bidders shall submit two
envelopes, “Qualification Application & Bid Security” in one
envelope and ‘Bid” separately in an other envelope and should be
sealed in an outer envelope.
Bid from perspective bidders
shall be submitted in Ethiopian currency only.
5. Evaluation is to be carried out in
two stages, Qualification document first and bids of qualified
bidders next.

All bids must be
accompanied by a bid security of 100,000.00 ETB. The Bid document
shall be prepared in one original and four copies. Bids must be
delivered to address below. Late bids will be rejected.
Qualification application and bid security the bidders will be
opened in the presence of bidders/representatives who choose to
attend at the address below on the final date and time of bid
submission as stated above.

7. Bids can be submitted for one or
multiple contracts however discounts offered on condition of
multiple contract awards will not be considered.
8. Bid documents will be opened
immediately after the closing time for submission in the presence of
Ethiopian Roads Authority Contract Award Committee &
bidders/representatives who wish to attend.
9. The Ethiopian Roads authority
reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids.
