The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has obtained a
credit from Nordic Development Fund (NDF) towards the cost of
Consultancy Services of the projects to be financed from the
remaining Fund under credit No. NDF-411 and intends to apply part of
the proceeds of this credit to eligible payments under the contract
for the following Give Consultancy assignments.
1.
Consultancy Service for Feasibility, Environmental Impact
Assessment and Detailed Engineering Design and Tender document
Preparation of Debark-Shire (220km). The Road is classified as
Link Road
and estimated professional man-months: 40-42 (subject to the final
TOR and RFP)
2.
Consultancy Services for Feasibility, Environmental Impact
Assessment and Detailed Engineering Design and Tender Document
Preparation for Mekele-Abi Abi-Adwa Road Project (190km). The Road
is classified as Main Access Road and estimated professional
man-months: 40-42 (subject to the final TOR and RFP).
3.
Consultancy Services for Feasibility, environmental Impact
Assessment and Detailed Engineering Design and Tender Document
Preparation for Assosa-Dabus-Wonbera (300km). The Road is
unclassified/New Road estimated professional man-months:
46-48(subject to the final TOR and RFP).
4.
Consultancy Services for Feasibility, Environmental Impact
Assessment and Detailed Engineering Design and Tender Document
Preparation for Ghimbi-Guyi-Alge Road Project (140km). The Road is
unclassified/New Road and estimated professional man-months: 36-38
(subject to the final TOR and RFP).
5.
Consultancy Services for Feasibility, environmental Impact
Assessment and Detailed Engineering Design and Tender Document
Preparation for Nansebo-Angeltu Road Project (100km). The Road is
unclassified/New Road and estimated professional man-months: 34-36
(subject to the final TOR and RFP).
The expected time of commencement of the services is November 2007.
The actual road construction is expected to be financed by the World
Bank, Government of Ethiopia and other funding agencies.
The Ethiopian Roads Authority now invites eligible consultants to
indicate their interest in providing the services. The intension is
to contract these services in five separate consultancy contract,
one for each service/project.
These five consultancy assignments will be procured separately.
However, the same consultants may be short listed for more than one
assignment provided that the proposes staff independently for each
contract.
Eligible Consultants are citizens, permanent residents or companies
registered
in any of the give Nordic countries (the Nordic countries are:
Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden). Origin of goods and
services by value shall be 60% as a minimum from the Nordic
countries.
Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they
are qualified to perform the services (Brochures, description of
similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability
of appropriate skills amount staff, etc.) Consultants may associate
to enhance their qualifications. The above information will be used
to short-list three to six capable consultants for each of the five
consultancy assignments.
A
consultant will be selected on a : Quality and Cost basis” in
accordance with procedure laid out in the general procurement
guidelines for the NDF, which follow the World Bank Guidelines:
Selection and Employment of Consultants by the World Bank Borrowers
(current edition). Request for Proposals (RFPs) will later be
distributed to short listed firms.

Expression of Interest may be delivered in three copies by July 6,
2007 for any or all of the
