This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement
Notice for this project that appeared in Development Business; issue
no. 619 of November 2003.
2.
The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a
Credit from the International Development Association-IDA-toward the
cost of the Food Security Project (FSP), and it intends to apply
part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the contract
for the procurement of Motorcycle.
3.
The Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Development, Food
Security Project now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified
bidders for the supply and Delivery of the following Motorcycles in
a Lot.

4. Bidding
will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB)
procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement
under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, ad is open to all bidders from
eligible source countries as defined in the guidelines.
5. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information from Ministry of
Agriculture and Rural Development, Procurement and Property
Administration Department and inspect the bidding documents during
working hours from 9:00 AM
to 12:00 and from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the address given below.
6. Bids
will be evaluated and contract awarded in a lot basis. Bidders are
required to offer for 100% of the quantities in the lot. Bidders who
have offered a bid for less than 100% of the quantity in the lot
will be considered as non-responsive and rejected.
7. A
complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by
interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the
address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee Birr
100.00 (Hundred Birr) or USD 12:00 or equivalent in a
freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be in cash
or bank payment order. For overseas bidders the bid document will be
sent by courier service for which prepaid mailing invoice shall be
sent with the above mentioned amount.
8. Bids
will be delivered to the office whose address is specified below at
or before 10:00 AM on
August 9, 2007. Electronic Bidding
will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be
opened in the presence of bidders/representatives who choose to
attend in person at the address below at 10:30 AM on August 9, 2007.
All bids must be accompany by a bid security of not less than 2
percent of the bid price in Ethiopian Birr Or an equivalent amount
in a freely convertible currency.
