1. This
invitation for bids follows the general procurement notice for this
project that appeared in development business, issue No. 679 or 16
May 2006.
2. The
Federal Government of Ethiopia has applied for a credit from the
international bank for development of Africa and allocated budget
toward the cost o the Universal Electricity Access Program. The
office of universal electricity access program now intends to apply
part of the proceeds for the procurement of 5000 compact
fluorescence lamps as part of increasing people’s access to
electricity in rural towns and villages. Details with ratings are
found in the b id document.
3. The
Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation (EEPCo) now invites all
interested and eligible bidders or the following contract:

4. Bidding
will be conducted through local competitive bidding (LCB).
5. Interested

6. The
bid documents shall be available from June 25, 2007 onward
against payment of non-refundable fee of ETH Birr 100.
7. All
bids must be accompanied by a bid security of 2% of the bid price,
and must be delivered to the address above at or before 11:30
Hours local time on July 25, 2007.
8. Bids
will be opened on July 25, 2007, 14:30 hours local time in
the presence of bidders or their representatives who choose to
attend at UEAP Office, Dembel
City Center,
Addis Ababa,
Ethiopia.
9. The
Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation reserves the right to reject
all or part of the bid.
