This Invitation for bids follows the General Procurement
Notice for this Project that appeared in Development business, issue
No. 679 of 16 May 2006.
2.
The Federal Government of Ethiopia has received a credit from
the International Development association toward the cost of
Electricity Access (Rural) Expansion Project, and it intends to
apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the
Contract for procurement of conductors Tender No. EAEP 3/99.
3.
The Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation now invites sealed
bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the supply of:

Bidding will be conducted through the International
Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s
Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loan and IDA Credits, and is open
to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the
Guidelines.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information
from and inspect the bidding documents at the address below (address
1) from 8:00 AM up to 5:00 PM from Monday to Friday.
6.
A margin of preference for eligible domestic manufactures
shall be applied. Additional details are provided in the bidding
documents.
7.
A complete set of bidding document in English may be
purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written
Application to the address below (address 2) and upon payment of a
non-refundable fee ETB 500 or in USD 55 from the Ethiopian Electric
Power Corporation, procurement division, Head Office. The method of
payment shall be in cash or cashier’s cheque.

The bidding document may also be sent by airmail or carrier
service for overseas bidders who cover all carrier costs in addition
to the above fee.
9.
Bids must be delivered to the address below (address 2) at or
before August 28, 2007, 14:00hr LT. Electronic bidding will not be
permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the
presence of bidders/representatives who choose to attend in person.
Bids will be opened at Head Office employee club, De Gaulle Square
on August 28, 2007 at 14:30 PM.
All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security not less than 2% of
the bid price for each lot of the lots that a bidders bids.
