1. The
Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has
obtained a Grant from the German Financial Cooperation (KfW) for
financing the “Urban Development Fund” (UDF). Portion of this fund
has been allocated for Dire Dawa, Gondar, Kombolcha City
Administrations, by the National Steering Committee, towards the
cost of Supply of Goods for Solid Waste and Liquid Waste Management
Project.

The City Administrations now invites sealed bids from
eligible bidders for ht Supply of
LOT 1 (Dire Dawa)
Side loading garbage transporting
truck (closed body,
hydraulic rear dumping), 8m3 body tank capacity, (Qty 1
each);
LOT 2 (Gondar)
Sewage Vacuum Truck (Cesspit Emptier
Truck), 8m3
sewage tank capacity, (Qty 1 each);
LOT 3 (Kombolcha)
Skip Loading garbage transporting
Truck (Detachable, open
top container, hydraulic rear dumping), 8m3 skip capacity
(Qty 1 each)
3. The
bidders are invites to submit tender for any Lot separately or any
combination of Lots. Each lot will be evaluated on a separate basis.

A complete set of bidding documents may be purchase against
payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 100 for each lot from
UDCBO during office hours upon presentation of registration
certificate from the Federal Ministry of Finance and Economic
Development, renewed Trade License for the current year and VAT
Registration Certificate.
6. The
tender must be accompanied by a tender security in an amount of ETB
50,000 for each lot in the form of a certified cheque, bank draft,
letter of credit, or bank guarantee from a reputable bank in
Ethiopia in the form provided in the Tender documents. The Tender
Security should be in separate envelope and be submitted with the
original technical envelope.
7.
Tender must be delivered to the address given above 4 on or
before 2:00 P.M. on April 26, 2007 G.C.
8.
Tender will be opened in the presence of those
tenders/representatives who choose to attend at the Conference Hall
of UDCBO at 2:00 P.M. on
April 26, 2007 G.C.
9.
Tenders shall be valid for a period of ninety (90) days after
tender opening.
10.
Bids should be submitted in two separate envelopes 1 for
technical documents and 1 for financial documents (1 Original and 2
copies).
11.
The City Administrations reserves the right to reject any or
all bids.
