This invitation for bids follows the General Procurement
Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business, issue
no. 695 of 31 January 2007.
2.
The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a
grant from the International Development Association (IDA) toward
the costs of Financial Sector Capacity Building Project, and it
intends to apply part of the proceeds of this grant to payments
under the Contract for the procurement of IT equipment, Software’s
and Office Equipment as per the following Table.

The National Bank of Ethiopia-Financial Sector Capacity
Building Project now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified
bidders for the Supply, Delivery and Installation of IT equipment,
Software’s and Office Equipment. Bidders are required to quote a
technically responsive bid at least for 80% of the line items in the
lot, and for 100% of the quantities for each line item will be
considered as incomplete and rejected as non-responsive.
4. Bidding
will be conducted through the International Competitive bidding (ICB)
procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement
under IBRD Loan and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from
Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.
5. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information from Financial
Sector Capacity Building Project (FSCB) office and inspect the
bidding documents at the address given below from
9:00 A.M.
to 12:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M. -5:00
P.M. (local time) Monday-Friday.
6. Qualifications
requirements include a minimum of three years in operation and
successfully completed two contracts similar in size and scope to
this one. Additional details are provided in the bidding documents.

A complete set of bidding document in English may be
purchased by interested bidders as of March 5, 2007 (Monday-Friday:
9:00 A.M. -12:00 noon and 2:00 -5:00 P.M.) on the submission of a
written Application to the address below and upon payment of a
non-refundable fee of Birr 400 (Four Hundred) or USD 47 (USD Forty
Seven) or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. The
method of payment will be Cash or Cashier Check. The bidding
documents will be sent by first class mail for overseas bidders who
send a Crossed Bank draft of Birr 460 (Four Hundred Sixty Birr) or
USD 54 (Fifty Four USD) or an equivalent amount in a freely
convertible currency in addition to the price of the document to the
address given below.

Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 2:00
P.M. (local time) on April 19, 2007. Electronic bidding will not be
permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be open in the
presence of the bidders/representatives who choose to attend in
person at the address below at 3:00 P.M. (local time) on April 19,
2007. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of not less
than 2% of the bid price or an equivalent amount in a freely
convertible currency.
