1. The
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) has allocated
sufficient budget toward the cost of construction of
Shashemene-Wendogenet-Gemeto Road construction project, (37 km
Triple Surface Treatment) and intends to apply part of this budget
to payments under the contract.
The road is located in the Oromia
and Southern Nations and Nationalities Regional State of Ethiopia.
2. Biding
will be conducted in accordance with the open national tendering
procedures contained in the public procurement proclamation of the
Federal Government of Ethiopia and is open to national bidders,
which fulfills the following requirements, to submit sealed bids for
the construction of Shashemene-Wendogenet-Gemeto Road construction
project.
Appropriate documentary evidence
demonstrating the Bidder’s compliance, which shall include:-
i.
Bidders’ certificate of registration from Ministry of Works
and Urban Development with category GC-1 or RC-1
ii.
Its valid trading license and suppliers registration
certificate; and
iii.
Its tax clearance certificate and VAT registration
3. The
work under this contract consists of construction of the road to the
standard mentioned in (1) and construction of minor and major
drainage structures.

The bidding document is prepared in
English language and can be purchased by interested bidders as of
March 9, 2007 at the above office upon presentation of the document
mentioned under item (2) above and a written application to the
Engineering Services Procurement, Design and Technical Support
Division of ERA and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr
1,600 (Birr One Thousand Six Hundred).

Ethiopian Roads Authority reserves the right to accept or reject any
or all Tenders without giving any reason
