1. This
Invitation for Bids flows the General Procurement Notice for this
Project that appeared in Development Business of September 29, 2007.
2. The
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) has received credit
from the International Development Association toward the cost of
Rural Capacity Building Project (RCBP), and it intends to apply
part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract
for the supply and delivery of Vehicles.
3. The
Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Procurement and
Property Administration Department now invites sealed bids from
eligible and qualified bidders for the procurement of the flowing.

4. Biding
will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding
(ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines:
Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and are open to al
bidders from Eligible source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.
5. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the
Bidding Documents at the address given below during working days
from 9:00 to 12:00 A.M.
and from
2:00 to 5:00 P.M.
6. A
complete set of Bidding Documents in English language may be
purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written
Application to the address Stated below and upon payment of a
non-refundable fee of Birr 200/Two Hundred Birr/ or an
equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. The method
of payment will be in Cash or CPO. The Bidding Documents will be
sent by first class mail for overseas bidders who send a crossed
bank draft of Birr 300.00 (Three Hundred Birr) or USD 35.00 or an
equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency in addition to
the price of the bid documents to the address given below. However,
the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will not take any
responsibility for a later or non delivery of the bidding document
sent by mail. No extension in bid submission date is permitted on
this account.
7. Bids
must be delivered to the address below at or before 10 (A.M.)
January 22, 2008. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. late
bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the
bidders/representative who choose to attend in person or on-line at
the address below at 10:30 (A.M.) on January 22, 2008. All bids must
be accompanied by a Bid Security of 2% of the offer as part of its
bid, of the bid price.
