1. The
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) has allocated foreign
exchange for procurement of Fertilizer, and is intended that part of
the proceeds will be applied to eligible payments under the contract
from importation of mineral fertilizers.
2. Accordingly,
the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has invited all
interested eligible importers to submit their offers for the
importation of 75,000 MT 15% UREA fertilizer in three lots.
3. The
WODERA FARMER’S CO-OP Union now invites sealed bids from eligible
bidders for the supply of 25,000 MT UREA (Grade 46%) fertilizers in
one lot.
The terms of
purchase will read as follows:
Bulk
fertilizer to be bagged at the supplier’s cost at the port of
unloading.

4. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the
Bidding Documents at the office of:

A complete set
of bidding documents may be purchased by interested eligible bidders
on the submission of a written application to the above and upon
payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 300 or equivalent in any
freely convertible currency.
5. Pursuant
to clause 9, ,(Section II) the Bidders shall furnish, as part of its
bid, a bid security in US dollars or in a freely convertible
currency widely used in international trade equivalent to the amount
of one US dollars for each ton of fertilizer quoted in its bid.
6. Bids
shall also be accompanied by overseas supplier’s bid security
equivalent of USD 1 per MT in the form of bank Guarantee and must be
delivered to the above office on or before 11:00 A.M. On December
11, 2007.
7. Bids
will be opened in the presence of bidders/representatives who choose
to attend at 2:00 P.M. On December 11, 2007 at the Office of
Agricultural Input Marketing Department located at the 9th
floor of the coffee & tea building.
8. WODERA
Farmer’s Cooperative Union reserve the right to reject or accept any
or all of the bids.
