Section I, Invitation for Bids
1. The
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) has allocated foreign
Currency for the importation of Mineral Fertilizer.
2. Accordingly
the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (UNION) in its
Tender No. UNION/FFPC/D/ICB/004/2007 has invited all interested
eligible importers to submit their offers for the importation of
75,000 MT = 15% DAP (18-46-0) fertilizer in there lots.
3. AMBO
FARMER’S COOPERATIVE UNION now invites sealed bids from eligible
bidders for the supply of 25, 000 MT = 15% DAP (18-46-0) fertilizers
in one lot.
The terms of
purchase will read as follows:-
Bulk fertilizer to be bagged at the supplier’s cost
at the
port of unloading.

4. Interested eligible bidders
may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding
documents at the office of:-

5. A completes set of
bidding documents may be purchased by interested eligible bidders
upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 300 or equivalent in
any freely convertible currency.
6. Bids shall be
accompanied by overseas supplier’s bid security equivalent of USD 1
per MT in the form of bank Guarantee and must be delivered to the
above office on or before 11:00 A.M. On November 13/2007.
7. Bids will be opened in
the presence of bidders/representative who choose to attend at 2:00
P.M. on November 13/2007
8. At the office of
Agricultural Input Market Department of UNION located at the 9th
floor of the coffee & Tea Building
9. AMBO Farmers cooperatives
Union reserves the right to reject or accept any or all of the bids.
