project that appeared in the United Nations Development Business;

Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a credit from
the International Development Association towards the cost of the
Capacity Building for Decentralized Service Delivery Project and
intends to apply part of the funds to cover eligible payments under
the contract for the Axum town roads rehabilitation Contract for
which this invitation for bids is issued.
Urban Development Capacity Building Office (UDCBO) of the Ministry
of Works and Urban Development now invites sealed bids from eligible
bidders for the Axum town roads rehabilitation Contract. Bidding
will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding
(ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s guidelines:
Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits and is open to all
bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the guidelines.
Domestic Contractors of Category GC/RC –4 and above, with licenses
valid for the year 2007/8 are eligible to participate in the bid.
Qualified domestic contractors may be eligible to receive a margin
of preference of 71/2 percent in Bid evaluation.

average annual financial amount of construction work over the period

equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency

interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the
address above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of ETB 400
(Four Hundred Ethiopian Birr ) or an equivalent amount in a freely
