1.      Oromia Regional Health Bureau has received a grant from the Italian Government towards the cost of Health Sector Development Program (HSDP) and intends to apply part of the funds to cover eligible payments under the contract for the Expansion of Shashemene Health Science College with the Contract Identification Number NCB/IC/HSDP/ SHASHEMENE/01/07. Bidding is open to all bidders from eligible source courtiers as defined in guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA credit.

2.      Oromia Regional Health bureau invites sealed bids from eligible bidders to al National contractors of class GC/BC 6 and above and regularly registered with the Ministry of Works and urban development and who have renewed their license for the current fiscal year and have VAT registration certificate: for the Expansion of Shashemene Health Science College (West Arsi Zone).

3.      Bidding documents (and additional copies) may be purchased from Oromia Regional Health Bureau, Engineering Service, Room No. 1, Addis Ababa for a non-refundable fee of Birr 200 (Two Hundred Birr only) or its equivalent in a freely-convertible currency commencing from 07/09/2007 to 04/10/2007. Interested bidders may obtain further information at the same address.

4.      Bids shall be valid for period of 120 days after bid opening and must be accompanied by bid security of at least 2% of the project cost or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency in a form of CPO, unconditional insurance bonds, bank guarantee or in cash, and shall be delivered to Oromia Regional Health Bureau on or before 04/10/2007 at 3:00 P.M. in the afternoon at which time the bid will be opened in the presence of the bidders who wish to attend.

5.      Completion time for the construction work will be 150 calendar days.

6.       All questionnaires and formats in the bidding documents shall be filled by eligible bidders and filing to do so may be a cause for rejection, and therefore bidders are advised to read the bidding data properly and respond accordingly.

8.      The Bureau reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
