1. The
Afar Pastoral Agricultural and Rural Development Bureau is intending
to organize trainings on Business Planning and Basics of
Agricultural Marketing at the middle of April 2000. The Bureau has
secured cash release for this purpose from IFAD and would like to
recruit a service provider who could provide a TOT training for
Regional Experts Woreda Cooperatives Promotion Assistants drawn from
the BoPARD, RCPO and 8 Agricultural Marketing Improvement Programme
(AMIP) beneficiary Woredas.
2. The
Afar Pastoral Agriculture and Rural Development Bureau (BoPARD) now
invites sealed bids for the provision of trainings under two lots.
Lot 1: Training on Basics of
Agricultural
Marketing
Lot 2: Training on Business Planning
Bidders have the option to bid for
one or two lots.
3. Bidding
will be conducted under the National Competitive Biding procedures
specified in the Ethiopian Government Guidelines.
4. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information from Afar BoPARD

address given below during office hours.
5. Qualification
requirements include: Bidders should present currently renewed
consultancy service provision license, VAT registration certificate
and other relevant documents.
6. A
complete set of bidding documents in English may be obtained free of
charge by interested bidders from Ministry of Agriculture and Rural
Development Procurement, Finance and Administration Department Room
No. 19, Tel. 011-5-50 70 00 Kassanchis.
7. Bids
must be submitted to Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development
Procurement, Finance and Administration Department Room No. 19 Tel.
011-5-50 70 00 Kassanchis, Addis Ababa within 21 days of the bid
announcement on The Ethiopian Herald at or before 5:00 O’clock local
time.
8. All
bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of 2% of the bid price
for each lot in the form of CPO, Certified Cheque, or and Bank
Guarantee.
9. Bids
will be opened in the presence of bidders or their legal
representatives within 5 days from the closing date of the bid at
Semera BoPARD at 4:00 P.M.
