1. The
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a credit from
the International Development Association toward the cost of
Post-Secondary Education Project, and it intends to apply part of
the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for the
supply and delivery of Books.
2. The
Haramaya University now invites sealed bids from eligible and
qualified bidders for the supply and delivery of Books.

Bid will be
evaluated and contract(s) awarded for the lot taking into account,
discounts offered, in any in determining the lowest evaluated cost
which will be the basis for award of contract. However, bids not
offering at lest 90% of the titles will be treated as incomplete and
rejected as non-responsive unless no complete bid is received for
the lot in which case the purchaser will evaluate and award the
contract(s) for each item in the lot.
3. Bidding
will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB)
procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines; Procurement
under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from
Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guideline.
4. Interested
eligible bidder may obtain further information from Haramaya
University Liaison Office, General Education Curriculum Frame Work
Development Department Building, in front of American Embassy,
Office No. 355, Tel. 011-123 66 01/23 68 12, Addis Ababa, and
inspect the biding Documents at the address given below from 8:30
A.M. to 12:30 A.M. to 12:30 A.M, and 1:30 to 5:30P.M.during working
days.
5. A
complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by
interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the
address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee of Birr
300.00 or equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency The
method of payment will be in the form of cashier’s, certified or
crossed check or a bank draft in favor of the Haramaya University.
6. Bids
must be delivered to the Haramaya University Liaison Office in Addis
Ababa at the address given above at or before 9:30 A.M. on May 2,
2008. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected.
Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders/representatives
who choose to attend in person at the address below at
9:30 A.M. on May 2, 2008. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of Birr 10,000.000 or
its equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. |
