1. The
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a credit from
the International Development Association toward the cost of
Post-Secondary Education Project, and it intends to apply part of
the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for the
Supply, delivery and installation of Pharmacognosy Laboratory
Equipment.
2. The
Haramaya University now invites sealed bids from eligible and
qualified bidders for the supply, delivery and installation of
Pharmacognosy Laboratory Equipment.

Bids will be
evaluated and contract (s) awarded for the lot taking into account,
discounts offered, if any, in determining the lowest evaluated cost
which will be the basis for award of contract. However, bids not
offering at lest 90% of the items will be treated as incomplete and
rejected as non-responsive unless no complete bid is received for
the lot in which case the purchaser will evaluate and award the
contract(s) for each item in the lot.
3.
Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive
Bidding (NCB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines:
Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits and open to all bidders
from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.
4. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information from Haramaya
University Liaison Office, General Education Curriculum Frame Work
Development Department Building, in front of American Embassy,
Office No. 355, Tel. 011-123 66 01/ 23 68 12, Addis Ababa and
inspect working days.
5. A
compete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased of a
non-refundable fee of Birr 300.00 or equivalent amount of cashier’s,
certified or crossed check or bank draft in favor of the Haramaya
University.
6. Bids
must be delivered to the Haramaya University Liaison Office in Addis
Ababa at the address given above at or before 2:00 P.M. on May 2,
2008. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected.
Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders/ representatives
who choose to attend in person at the address below at
2:00 P.M. on May 2, 2008. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of Birr 10,000.00 or
its equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. |
