1. The
SNNP Regional State through the
Government of Ethiopia has received credit from the International
Development Association toward the cost of the Water Supply and
Sanitation Project and it intends to apply part of funds to cover
eligible payment under the Contract for Borehole Drilling and
Construction.
2. The
SNNP Region Water Resources Development Bureau now invites sealed
bids from all eligible bidders for drilling and construction of
boreholes & shallow wells in different weredas as tabulated bellow:

3. Bidding
will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) a
procedure specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement
under IDA Credits, and is open to all eligible local bidders.
4. Bids
shall be valid for a period of one hundred and twenty (120) days
after Bid opening. Bids must be accompanied by bid security of not
less than 2% of contract amount and shall be delivered to SNNP
Regional Water Resources Development Bureau, Equipment & Suppliers
Service, Room No. 05 Hawassa, Tel: 046-22 21 24 69 on or before May
19, 2008 at 11:30 A.M. Bids shall be opened at 02:00 P.M. on the
same date in the presence of the bidders who wish to attend.
Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be
rejected.
5. Qualification
requirements include: (i) ownership (or existing lease) of a
relevant equipment & machinery, (ii) completion of at least one
similar project with the last three years, (iii) total turnover of
1.2 times the bid value for the last three years, (iv) availability
of experienced drilling team. Additional details are provided in the
Bidding Document.
6. A
complete set of Bidding Document in English may be purchased
directly from the Water Bureau upon payment of a non-refundable fee
Birr 250.00 by interested bidders on submission of a written
application to the address indicated below.
7. SNNP
Regional Water Recourse Development Bureau reserves the right to
reject all or part of the bid.
