To all general
water works contractors of category five and above, with license
valid for the year 2007/2008.
1. The
Addis Ababa Water and Sewerage Authority (AAWSA) Water and
Sanitation; Development and Rehabilitation Project Office invites
eligible bidders for furnishing the necessary labor, material,
equipment and services for the construction of sewer lines and
appurtenances in kirkos subcity. The work consists of construction
of the sewer lines meant for connecting 34 Meda and Mekele flower;
Kirkos 4 and Amalgameted; Mamrecha and Temenja Yaje condominium
houses’s service connections; to the existing sewer line at Kera in
Kirkos sub city locality.
2. The
construction works shall be completed in 120 Calendar days from the
commencement day of the works.
3. Interested
eligible bidders may purchase a bidding document upon presentation
of work permit and renewed trade licenses from the Ministry of Water
Resources and Trade and Industry respectively for the year 2007/2008
(2000 E.C.) VAT and Tax payers’ registration certificate in addition
from responsible bureau.
4. A
complete set of bidding Documents may be purchased starting form
August 15, 2008 onwards during office hours against payment of a
non-refundable fee of Birr 200.00 (Two Hundred Birr) from the under
mentioned project office.
5. Bids
shall be submitted in two separate envelopes on TECHNICAL and the
other FINANCIAL separately each having one original and two copies.
6. All
envelopes shall be wax-sealed and inserted in a bigger envelope. The
outer and inner envelopes shall bear the full address of the bidder.
The outer envelopes shall also bear the following:
“DO NOT OPEN
BEFORE September 15, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. local time Bids must be
deposited in the tender box prepared for this purpose at AA WSA
water and sanitation development and rehabilitation project office
on before September 16, 2008, 10:00 A.M. local time.
7. Bidders
are advised to read the Instructions to Bidders before of Bank
grantee, CPO or Cashier’s

bids must be accompanied by a bid bond, in the form of Bank
guarantee, CPO or cashier’s check amounting to 50,000.00 (Fifty
Thousand) Birr. Bid bond in any other form shall not be accepted.
9.
Bids shall be opened on Separate 16, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. local time at The Project Office in the presence of the bidders or
their legal representatives who wish to attend.
10.
The AAWSA-Water and Sanitation Development and Rehabilitation
Project Office reserves the right to reject any or all the bids.
