The Ministry of Water Resources (MoWR), has allocated budget from the Government Treasury towards the cost of Feasibility study of Upper Tekeze Valley Ground Water Resources for Irrigation Project, and intends to apply part of the budget to cover the eligible payments under the contract for drilling 5 exploratory wells for Lot-1 and 6 exploratory wells for Lor-2 with anticipated depth of 400m.

The Ministry now invites sealed bids to all Bidders that fulfill the qualification requirements indicated in the bid document.

Complete set of bid documents may be purchased during working hours from the date of the first announcement/notice advertised in The Ethiopian Herald upon the presence of renewed license and registration certificate of the fiscal year and a non-refundable fee payment of Birr 300.00 (Three Hundred Birr). A bidder can bid for one or more Lots

Bidders should abide with the regulation and rules of value added tax (VAT) specified by the Government of Ethiopia. Failure to do so-might result in automatic rejection from the bid.

Bids must be accompanied by a bid security of not less than 50,000 Birr (Fifty Thousand Birr) or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency form a recognized domestic bank. Bids shall be valid for a period of 90 calendar days.

Bidders shall submit five wax-sealed envelopes “Qualification application (Original and four copies)”,  “Bid (Original and four copies)” for each Lot on or before 12:00 A.M. on 3 September 2008 and will be opened at 2:00 P.M. on the same date in the presence of bidders or their authorized representatives who choose to attend at Contract Administration Department, Room No. 211.

Qualified domestic Bidders may be eligible to receive a margin of preference of 75 percent in Bid evaluation. Bidders may obtain further information form MoWR, Contract Administration Department, the address of which stated above.

The MoWR reserves the right to reject any part or all bids, if necessary.
