The Ethiopian
Electric Power Corporation (EEPCO) (hereinafter referred to as the
Corporation) issues this notice of invitation to bid:

230 kV Alamata-Mekele
Power
Transmission Project
(Contract-AM-TLSS)
Scope
I)
Substation Extensions
Design,
manufacture, test, supply, delivery to selected main stores of
erection site (Alamata), sea and inland transportation to site of
erection including port clearances and insurance from warehouse to
warehouse) 230kV substation extension equipment.
II)
Transmission Line
Design,
manufacture, test, and supply, delivery to inland warehouses in
Alamata of all materials required for about 141 km of a single
Circuit 230kV, 3-phase, twin AACE “ASH” conductor, one optical fiber
cable (OPGW) on self supporting, tapered configuration, vertical
formation galvanized steel lattice towers with each leg having a
separate footings of pad chimney concrete type, from Alamata
substation to Mekele substation.
Only bidders, who have designed,
manufactured and supplied transmission line materials and towers at
230kV voltage level or above will be considered qualified.
The project finance (foreign currency
portion) shall be made available by the bidder as a grant or soft
loan (Commercial Credit) from their respective government and/or
financing institutions.
A technically qualified bid with
attractive financing scheme and commercial offer shall be selected
for contract negotiation and award.
The bid document in soft copy (C.D)
can be collected against a non-refundable payment of Ethiopian Birr
1,000.00 (One Thousand Ethiopian Birr).

Bid documents will be available
starting from December 18, 2008 at working days and time.
Site visit will be conducted from
January 8-15, 2009 and pre-bid meeting will be held on January 18,
2009 at 14:00 hours local time (2:00 P.M.) at EEPCO club, Mexico
Square.
Offers must be delivered to the
address given above by the February 16, 2009 at or before 12:00
hours local time (12:00 A.M). Late bids will be
rejected.
Offers will be opened in the presence
of bidders/representatives who choose to attend on February 16, 2009
at 15:00 hours local time (3:00 P.M.) at EEPCO’s club, Mexico
Square.
