Development Invitation
For Bid Application for Fertilizer Foreign Procurement
The Federal
Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has allocated foreign currency for
the importation of fertilizer.
The Ministry of
Agriculture and Rural Development (MoARD) hereby invites all
interested eligible importers to submit their offers for the
importation of 200.000 MT+20% DAP fertilizers and 75,000MT+20% urea
fertilizers each fertilizer type in a separate lots.
Detailed
guidelines and standards bid documents can be collected against
payment of non-refundable Birr 400.00 or USD 50.00 from the Finance
Department of MoARD.
All eligible
importers must submit unconditional proof of financial capability
for the importation of the fertilizer. Failure to submit this
financial proof will lead to an automatic rejection.
All bids shall
be submitted in sealed envelopes marked “Application for foreign
Fertilizer procurement No. “MoARD/FFPC/D/ICB/003/2008” and MoARD/FFPC/U/ICB/004/2008”
for the DAP and urea bids, respectively, MoARD/FFPC/U/ICB/004/2008”
for the DAP and urea bids, respectively, and addressed to MoARD,
Fertilizer Foreign procurement committees, Addis Ababa. Each bids
must be accompanied by a bid bond with a value for Birr 100,000 in
an acceptable form such as CPO or Bank Guarantee only and must be
submitted on or before 2:00 P.M. January 20, 2009 for bid No.”MoARD/FFPC/D/ICB/003/2008”
and 3:00 P.M. January 20, 2009 for bid No. MoARD/FFPC/U/ICB/004/2008”,
which is the closing and opening date of the tender.
Bids shall also
be accompanied by overseas supplier’s bid security equivalent of USD
1 per MT in the form of Bank Guarantee. Bids shall be opened and
read in the presence of bidders or their authorized representatives
at 2:00 P.M. on January 20, 2009 for the DAP fertilizers and January
20, 2009 at 3:00 P.m. for the urea fertilizers, at the Agricultural
Inputs Supply Enterprise Main office assembly hall.
The MoARD
reserves the right to reject or accept any or all of the bids.
