FOR SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION OF SOLAR
HOME SYSTEMS

1. The
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a credit from
the International Development Association toward the cost of Energy
Access Project and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this
credit to payments under the Contract for Procurement of Solar Home
Systems.
2. The
Rural Electrification Executive Secretariat now invites sealed bids
from eligible and qualified bidders for Procurement of:
Lot One: Solar
Home System for Nega Jima Electrification Cooperative
Type 1: 7
WP System # 10 units
Type 2: 10 WP System # 14 units
Type 3: 20 WP System # 20 units
Total Number
of System required 44 units
Lot two: Solar
Home System for Burka Babo Kawe Rural Electrification Cooperative.
Type 1:
10WP System #127 units
Type 2: 20WP System #30 units
Total Number
of Systems required 157 units
3. Qualifications
requirements include: Domestic suppliers must attach VAT
registration certificate with their offer.
4. A
compete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by
interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the
address below upon payment of a non-refundable fee of ETB 30.00
(Thirty Ethiopian Birr) (Monday-Friday) 8:30 A.M. to 12:00 A.M. and
1:30 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. starting from December 1, 2008. Payment can
be done in cash at the address below or though certified cheque on
the name of the Rural Electrification Fund.
5. Bids
must be delivered to the address below at or before 3:00 PM January
1, 2009.
Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be
rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’
representatives who choose to attend in person at the address below
at 9:30 PM local time on January 1, 2009. All bids must be
accompanied by a Bid Security not less than 2% of the bid price.
