INVITATION FOR CONSTRUCTION
SCHOOL UPGRADING
OXFAM GB
a member of Oxfam
International, a confederation of 13 organizations working together
with over 3000 partners in more than 100 countries, is a
development, relief and campaigning organization dedicated to
finding to finding lasting solutions to poverty, injustice and
suffering around the world, Ethiopia being one of the counties it
operations in. It has a filed office in Benshangul Gumuz Regional
Sate running an Oxfam GB invites wax-sealed bids from eligible
bidders for with the necessary labor, materials & equipment for the
construction of 4 classrooms unit for the incoming flux of children
from alternative basic education centers in the Menge woreda at
three different sites. Benishangul Gumuz Regional Capital, Assosa is
700km away from Addis and it is Kola. Menge woreda is 60km away from
Assosa and the sites where the construction is going to take place
are within 60km distance form Menge with a bumpy rough roads and
shortage of running water. Rainy seasons affect construction works
and bidders need to bear this in mind. Details about the bid are as
follows:
Sites are:
- Keshaf
Primary school upgrading
four class room unit,
- Tumet-Azizi
primary school upgrading four-class room unit,
- Undulu
primary school in Menge district of Assosa Zone.
Bidders shall submit one original and
two-machine copy bid documents in a sealed envelope marked as “Menge
Woreda School Construction”. OXGB/ADD/2008/14 addressed to the
Tender Committee, Oxfam GB. Documents should be placed in the Tender
Box provided on THE RECEPTION OF OXFAM GB Addis Office or to the
Admin and Finance officer Office in Assosa not be received later
than 4:00 P.M. 5th
January 2009. Bids
Submitted later than the indicated date and closing time will
automatically be disqualified.
Interested eligible bidders may
purchase the bid documents from Oxfam GB field Office Room No.3 at
Assosa town located just behind Bamboo Hotel, or Oxfam GB Addis
Ababa Office located across the road from Imperial Hotel up on
payment of non-refundable fee of Birr 100 and or its equivalent in
freely convertible currency, for each site.
Bid offers shall be valid, for the
period of 90 days after the date of bid submission.
Completed bid documents shall bear
official seal of the organization and accompanied by a bid security
bond of 1% of the total bid amount in the form of C.P.O.
Bid closing date shall be on January
5, 2009 G.C. at 4:00 PM and will be opened on January 8, 2009 at
10:00 A.M. in Assosa town Oxfam office meeting hall, in the presence of bidders or
their legal representatives.
Oxfam GB reserves the right to accept
or reject any or all bids either in whole or part thereof and is not
bound to give reasons.
OXFAM GB,
therefore, wishes all
contractors of GB/BC-6 and above who have a license renewed
at least for the 2000/01 Ethiopian Calendar and must be
VAT Registered & possess TIN number to submit their bid
document with the profile of the organization and reorganization of
past performance of its quality work.
