CARE International in Ethiopia is a humanitarian Organization working in Ethiopia since 1984 implementing relief and multi sectorial development projects. CARE-Ethiopia has been a pioneer in implementing program of veterinary service in the pastoral areas of Oromia, Community animal Health workers program though training and equipping selected traditional healer (community member) with necessary veterinary inputs as community animal health workers (CAHWs).

To this effect, OPADC, CARE Ethiopia and Save the Children USA through Enhanced Livelihood in Southern Ethiopia (ELSE) project planned to conduct the assessment on CAHWs program in pastoral area of Oromia that will be followed by feed back and harmonization workshop in order to consolidate best practice, agree on solutions for the gaps/challenges identified and address policy issues for future success of the program in a harmonized way.

Objective of the consultancy

The overall objective of this consultancy work is to undertake detailed assessment on animal health service delivery system in general and community animal health service program in particular with emphasis on analyzing strength and weakness of the program, pinpoint challenge/gaps, identify lessons learned for further scaling up and make recommendations in order to inform policy makers and improve quality of the program in the future. In addition the consultant expected to identify strengths and weakness of implementation approaches and strategies of different CHAWs program implementing partner for future harmonization and indicate the way forward.

Interested individuals or firms can send their technical and financial proposal by collecting the terms of reference (TOR) after paying of Birr 30 from the head office of CARE Ethiopia.

Duration: The duration of the proposal is ten calendar days after the date of the announcement on Newspaper.

CARE Ethiopia reserves the right to cancel the bid fully or partially.
