Request for
Expression of Interest for detail design, preparation of tender
document and supervision of Legedade Water Treatment Plant Expansion
and Transmission line Rehabilitation Project.
The Addis Ababa
Water and Sewerage Authority –Water and Sanitation Development and
Rehabilitation Project Office is one of the government institution
established in order to execute water and sanitation related
projects for Addis Ababa City. The main objective for the
establishment of the project office is to alleviate the current
water supply and sewerage service problems of the capital city and
develop future facilities to cope up with the growing demand of the
metropolis.
The Addis Ababa
Water and Sewerage Authority –Water and Sanitation Development and
Rehabilitation Project Office has received a grant from French
Development Agency to procure Consultancy Service for Legedade Water
Treatment Plant Expansion and Transmission line Rehabilitation
Project.
Phase I. Consulting Services for
detail design, preparation of tender document for Legedade Water
Treatment Plant Expansion and Transmission line Rehabilitation
Project.
Phase II. Construction Supervision
Service for Expansion of Legedade Water Treatment Plant and
Transmission line Rehabilitation Project.
The project is
likely to serve an additional 15,000 to 20,000 consumer connections.
It mainly foresees the construction of an additional pulsator
clarifier of new 30,270 m3/day capacity for immediate
increase of Addis Ababa Water Supply. This goes along with other
works, amongst which:
Construction of gated spillway at Dire Dam
Construction of a new raw water inlet structure
Installation of flow
control valves and butterfly valves on the incoming raw water main
from Dire Dam for the proportioning of the water into the new
treatment plant extension
Construction of DN 400
by-pass from the Dire
main.
Improvements on the
transmission mains from Legedadi to terminal Reservoir in the first
section.
Rehabilitate the old 50,000 m3
/day capacity plant by a re-introduction of the lamella plates
Construction of a sludge drying basin

And the Project
a Manager should have experience in design, construction and
supervision of Urban Water Supply in developing counties and as a
team leader in design consultancy.
The consultancy
is expected to be conducted on need basis and performed at earliest.
Estimated staff months for phase I is nine months.
The AAWSA-Water
and Sanitation Development and Rehabilitation Project Office now
invites qualified eligible international consultant firms to
indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested
consultants must provide information indicating that they are
qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar
assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of
appropriate skills among staff, etc.)
International
consultants are expected to associate with local consultants to
enhance their qualifications.
A consultant
will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the
QCBS metho (Quality and Cost Based) and acceptable to AAWSA-Water
and Sanitation development and Rehabilitation Project Office and
AFD.
Interested

Expressions of

weeks from the date of positing and should be submitted in a plain
