Rural Financial Intermediation Programme
Credit No. 0572-ET, RUFIP
1. The
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received loan from IFAD
toward the cost of Rural Financial Intermediation Programme (RUFIP),
and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to
payments under the Contract for procurement of vehicles, and
motorcycles.
2. The
Development Bank of Ethiopia (DBE), Programme Coordination and
Management Unit (PCMU) now invites sealed bids from eligible and
qualified bidders for the procurement of:-
Lot 1.20Units,
4WD, D/C pickups diesel
Lot 2.2 Units, 4WD, Land Cruiser
Lot 3.129 Units, Motorcycles
3. Bidders
have the option to bid for one or more lots. Bids will be evaluated
and contract awarded on a lot-by-lot basis. Bidders are required to
offer a technically responsive bid for 100% if the qualities in each
lot. Bidders who have not offered a technically responsive bid for
100% of the qualities in each lot, the offer will be considered
incomplete and rejected as non-responsive.
4. Bidding
will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding
(ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines:
Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all
bidders from eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.
5. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information from Development
Bank of Ethiopia (DBE); Programme Coordination Management Unit
(PCMU) and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below
on week days from 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. working hours.

6. A
complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by
interested bidders on submission of a written application to the
address given above and upon payment of a non-refundable US$25for
Ethiopian Birr 200 in cash or CPO.
7. Bids
must be delivered to the address below on or before March 17, 2008
at 3:00 P.M. All bids must be compared by a bid security of 2% (Two percent) of the
total bid amount in Ethiopian Birr or a freely convertible currency.
late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of
the bidders/representatives who choose to attend at the address
below on March 17, 2008 at
3:15P.M. at the Conference Room of DBE, 4th floor.
