Project: Afdera-Abala Road Proejct, Contract 1:
Hawusewa-Abala-Irebit and
Endaselassie-Dejena-Dansha Road Proejct,
Contract 1: Endaselassie Dedebit.
1. The
Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has
allocated budget towards the cost of Afdera-Abala Road Project,
Contract 1: Hawusewa-Abala-Irebit and Endaselassie-Dejena-Dansha
Road Project, Contract 1: Endaselassie-Dedebit and intends to apply
part of the proceeds to eligible payments for these Contracts.
2. The
Ethiopian Roads Authority now invites bidders to submit sealed bids
for providing the necessary labour, material and equipment for the
construction of these projects, which fulfills the following
criteria,
In case of Ethiopian bidders,
registered contractors of Category GC-1 or RC-1 with their trade
license valid for the year 2000 E.F.Y, registered for VAT and tax
clearance certificate.
In case of bidders other than
Ethiopian; any relevant professional participate certificate and its
trading license or equivalent.
3. Afdera-Abala
Road Project, Contract 1: Hawusewa-Abala-Irebti is located in North
Eastern Part of Ethiopia in the Afar Regional state and the work
under this project consists of construction of 94 km length of the
road to DS4 Standard of Asphalt Concrete Surface. The construction
period is 1260 calendar days.
Endaselassie -Dejena –Dansha Road Project, Contracct 1:
Endeaselassie-Dedebit is located in North Part of Ethiopia in the
Tigray Regional state and the work under this project consists of
construction of 70 km length of the road to DS4 Standard of Asphalt
Concrete Surface. The construction period is 1095 calendar days.
4. Bidding
will be conducted through the international competitive bidding
procedures specified in the Bidding Documents, and are open t all
eligible bidders as defined the Bidding Documents.
5. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the
bidding documents at the address given below from 8:30 to 12:30 A.M.
and 11:30 A.M. and 1:30 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. on Fridays local time. A
complete set of bidding documents prepared in English language may
be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written
application to the address below and upon payment of a
non-refundable fee of ETB 4,000 or in usd 450 for each project as of
January 25, 2008. The method of payment shall be in cash or direct
deposit t ERA’s account number NBE 0160101011500.

6. Bidders
shall submit two envelopes, “Qualification Information & Bid
Security” in one envelope and “Financial Bid” separately in the
second envelope and should be sealed in an outer envelope.
7. Evaluation
is to be carried out in two stages, evaluation of Qualification
Information fist and evaluation of Financial Bids of qualified
bidders next.
8. Bids
must be delivered to the address below on or before March 25, 2008
at 2:30 P.M. and 3:00 P.M. for Afdera-Abala
Road project Road Project, Contract 1: endaslasse-Dedebit
respectively. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid security of
2,000.000.00 ETB. Late bids will be rejected. Qualification
Information and Bid security of the bidders will be opened in the
presence of bidders/representatives who choose to attend at the
address below immediately after the final date and time of bid
submission stated here above for each project.
