FOR THE TOTAL ACQUISITION OF
GOVERNMENT OWNED PUBLIC
COMPANIES AND BUSINESS

1.      The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia currently owns 100% equity of the following companies and branch hotels.

2.      The Government intends to sell 100% ownership of these companies and businesses to an investor or a group of investors ready and capable of operating and developing them.

3.      The Privatization and Public Enterprises Supervising Agency (PPESA), pursuant to the powers and duties vested in it by Article 6 of Proclamation No. 412/2004hereby, invites all prospective investors to submit bids for the total acquisition of one or more of the following:

1.      Dire Dawa Ras Hotel No.1                     Dire Dawa

2.      Dire Dawa Ras Hotel No.2                     (Karamara) Dire Dawa

3.      Harar Ras Hotel                                      Harar

4.      Bale Goba Wabishabele Hotel                Goba

6.      Ethio Plastic Share Company                  Addis Ababa

7.      Brick Products Share Company              Addis Ababa

8.      Abay Technical and Trading Share Company    Addis Ababa

9.      Addis Spare Parts Import and Distribute Sell Share Company      Addis Ababa

10.  Yekatit Paper Covert Factory 

11.   Addis Ababa Foam and Plastic Factory  Addis Ababa

12.  Ethiopia Plywood Factory              Addis Ababa

13.  Construction Works and Coffee Technology Development Enterprise Addis Ababa

4.      The Bid documents will be available in Room No.517 of the Privatization and Public Enterprises Supervising Agency, Bole Road, 5^th floor starting January 28, 2008.

5.      Interested bidders can obtain documents during working hours upon payment of non-refundable Birr 300.00 (Three Hundred Birr) or the equivalent in U.S. Dollars for each set of document.

6.      Bidders shall submit bid bond in accordance with the instructions to Bidders.

7.       Bid shall be submitted in wax-sealed envelopes on or before March 24, 2008 at 3:00 P.M. local time, addressed as follows:

8.      The bids shall be open on the same day, March 24, 2008 at 3:15P.M. local time in Room No.509 at the same address stated under 7 above
