Procurement of Books
1. This
Invitation for Bids follows the standard format to IFB for this
procuring in Public Procurement Agency.
2. The
Procuring entity, AAU, has fund within the Procuring Entity budget
toward the cost of procuring books to the University libraries from
one supplier that furnished lowest evaluation prices will sign for
the next consecutive three years.
3. The
University now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified
bidders for those books of Natural Science and Social Science. Those
bidders who submit their bidding document have to frankly specified
their discount from market price for line items in the respective in
the statement of requirement. Bidder quoting least evaluated bid
price will be awarded the contract for the supply of Books for three
(3) consecutive years arising from this bid result.
4. Bidding
will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding
(ICB) procedures specified in Public Procurement Proclamation of
Goods of Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, and are open to
all bidders from eligible Source Countries.
5. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information from Foreign
Purchasing Division, Room No. 34 and inspect the Bidding Documents
at the address given below from 8:00 A.M. -5:00 P.M.
6. A
complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by
interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the
address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee 100 Birr.
Payment can be done in cash at the university cash service or may
send cashier’s cheque in equivalent amount in a freely convertible
currency. The cheque amount shall include the postage or courier
charge for sending the tender documents to bidders. The Bidding
Documents will be collected directly from the specified address
below or delivered by the special courier (Postal). No Liability
will be accepted loss or late delivery.
7. Bids
must be delivered to the address below at or before 2:00 P.M.
February 22, 2008. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late
bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the
bidders/representatives who choose to attend in person at the
address below at 2:30 P.M. February 22, 2008. All bids must be
accompanied by a Bid Security of 65,000.00 Birr or an equivalent
amount in a freely convertible currency.
