INVITATION FOR BIDS
RURAL ELECTRIFICATION PROJECT
SUPPLY OF DISTRIBUTION MATERIALS Loan Number: 2100150013644
1. This
invitation for bids follows the general procurement notice for this
project that appeared in United Nation Development Business, issue
No. 296, dated 16 February 2007.
2. The
Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has
received a loan from the African Development Fund towards the cost
of the Rural Electrification Project, and intends to apply part of
the proceeds of the loan to cover eligible payments under the
contracts for the supply of Distribution Materials. Bidding is open
to all bidders from eligible member countries as defined in the
ADB’s Rules of Procedure for the Procurement of Goods and Works.
3. The
Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation now invites sealed bids from
prospective bidders for one or more of the following lots:
ADBII 2/00 Lot 1 Design,
Manufacture, Test and Supply of Medium Voltage Steel Poles
ADBII 2/00
Lot 2 Supply Electronic Pre-Paid Energy
Maters
ADBII 2/00
Lot 3 Supply of Service connection Cables
4. Bidding
will be conducted through the international competitive bidding
procedures specified in the African Development Bank Group “Rules of
Procedures for Procurement of Goods and Works” and are open to all
bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the Rules.

6. A
complete set of bidding document may be purchased from the above
office upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 1,000.00 (One
Thousand) or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency for
each lot.
7. Bids
must be delivered to the above office on or before 13:30 hours local
time on 16 September 2008 and must be accompanied by a security of
USD 400,000.00 (United States Dollar Four Hundred Thousand) for Lot
1, USD 45,000.00 (United States Dollar Forty Five Thousand) for Lot
2 and USD 10,000.00 (United States Dollar Ten Thousand) for Lot 3.
The bid security amount for each lot shall be in the currency
indicated or in their equivalent amount in a freely convertible
currency.
8. Bids
will be opened in the presence of bidders/representatives who choose
to attend at 14:00 hours local time on 16 September 2008 at the
