1. The
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a credit from
the International Development Association toward the cost of
Post-Secondary Education Project, and it intends to apply part of
the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for the
Supply, Delivery and Installation of Reproductive Health and
Veterinary Medicine Laboratory and Clinic Equipment.
2. The
Haramaya University now invites sealed bids from eligible and
qualified bidders for the Supply, Delivery and installation of
Reproductive Health and Veterinary Medicine Laboratory and Clinical
Equipment.

Bids will be evaluated and
contract(s) awarded for the lots taking into account, discounts
offered, if any, in determining the lowest evaluated cost which will
be the basis for award of contract. However bids not offering 90% of
the items will be treated as incomplete and rejected as non
responsive unless no complete bid is received in which case the
purchaser will evaluate and award the contract (s) for each item in
the lot.
3. Bidding
will be conducted though the National Competitive Bidding (NCB)
procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement
under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits and is open to all bidders from
Eligible Source Counties as defined in the Guidelines.
4. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information from Harmaya
University Liaison Office, General Education Curriculum Framework
Development Department Building, in front of American Embassy,
Office No. 355, Tel. 0111-23 66 01 Or 23 68 12, Addis Ababa. and
1:30 to 5:30 P.M. during working days.
5. A
complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by
interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the
Harmaya University Liaison Office and upon payment of non-refundable
fee of Birr 300.00 or equivalent amount in a freely convertible
currency. The method of payment will be in the form of cash,
cahier’s, certified or crossed check or a bank draft in favour of
the Harmaya University.
6. Bids
must be delivered to the Haramaya University Liaison Office in Addis
Ababa at the address given above at or before 11:00 A.M. on July 28,
2008. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be
rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the
bidders/representatives who choose to attend in person at the
address given above at 11:00 A.M. on July 28, 2008. All bids must be
accompanied by a bid security of Birr 10,000 or its equivalent
amount in a freely convertible currency. |
