1. The
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a credit form
the International Development Association toward the cost of
Post-Secondary Education Project, and it intends to apply part of
the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for the
Supply and Delivery of Chemicals, Media and Reagents.
2. The
Haramaya University now invites sealed bids from eligible and
qualified bidders for the Supply and Delivery of Chemicals, Media
and Reagents.

Bids will be
evaluated and contract (s) awarded for the lot taking into account,
discounts offered, if any, in determining the lowest evaluated cost
which will be the basis for award of contract. However, bids not
offering 90% of the items will be treated as incomplete and rejected
as non responsive unless no complete bid is received in which case
the purchaser will evaluate and award the contract (s) for each item
in the lot.
3. Bidding
will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB)
procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement
under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits and is open to all bidders form
Eligible Source Counties as defined in the Guidelines
4. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information form Haramaya
University Liaison Office, General Education Curriculum Framework
Development Department Building, in front of American Embassy,
Office No. 355, Tel. 0111-23 66 01 Or 23 68 12, Addis Ababa, and
inspect the Bidding Documents from 8:30 A.M. to 12:30 A.M. and 1:30
to 5:30 P.M. during working days.
5. A
complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by
interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the
Haramaya University Liaison Office and upon payment of a
non-refundable fee of Birr 300.00 or equivalent amount in a freely
convertible currency. The method of payment will be in a freely
convertible currency. The method of payment will be in the form of
cash, cashier’s certified or crossed check or a bank draft in favor
of the Haramaya University.
6. Bids
must be delivered to the Harmaya University Liaison Office in Addis
Ababa at the address given above at or before 2;00 P.M. on July
28,2008. Electronic bidding will not permitted. Late bids will be
rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the
bidders/representatives who choose to attend in person at the
address given above at 2:00 P.M. on July 28, 2008. All bids must be
accompanied by a bid security of Birr 10,000.00 or its equivalent
amount in a freely convertible currency. |
