Project Name GFATM, Ethiopia
1. The
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received grant
form the Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB and Malaria (GFATM) for the
implementation of National Programs of Tuberculosis and Malaria.
Towards the cost of GFATM, it intends to use part of the proceeds of
this grant to eligible payments under the contract for which this
invitation to bids is issued.
2. Pharmaceuticals
Fund and Supply Agency (PFSA) now invite sealed bids from eligible
bidders for the supply of: Anti-TB Drugs & Medical Supplies.
3.
Bidding will be conducted though the international
competitive bidding procedures specified in the Government
Procurement Guidelines and are open to all bidders from eligible
source countries as defined in the Guidelines. Both WHO pre
qualification and DACA registration of drugs under this invitation
are mandatory for WHO pre qualified products. For products not pre
qualified by WHO, DACA registration will prevail for eligibility.
4. The
Bid Evaluation will be conducted on item-by-item basis and bidders
will have the chance to participate for one or for all of the items
for Lot I. The Bid Evaluation will be conducted on lot-by-lot basis
and bidders will have the chance to participate for one or for all
of the lots for the rest of the lots.

inspect the Bidding Documents at the tender Committee Secretary
Office No. 1.4 from the date of this advertisement appeared in the
Ethiopian Herald during Office Hours.
6. A
complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by
interested bidders from Tender Committee Security office address
above upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Eth. Birr 200 or in
equivalent USD 25. The method of payment will be cash or certified
check. For foreign Bidders the document will be sent by mail and USD
35 for mail cost shall be included.
7. Bids
must be delivered to Pharmaceuticals Supply and Logistics
P/Department Ministry of Health Tender Committee Secretary Office on
or before 16th September 2008 at 2:00 P.M. All bids must
be accompanied by a bid security in the amount as specified in the
tender document in the form of CPO or Bank Guarantee from
International Recognized Bank and Counter Guaranteed by Commercial
Bank of Ethiopia. Insurance Bond is not acceptable.
8. Late
bids will be rejected and the purchaser reserves the right to reject
the bid in full or partially.
9. Bids
will be opened in the presence of the bidders/representatives who
choose to attend at the same place mentioned on item No. 7, on 16th
September 2008 at 2:30 P.M.
