Invitation for Re-Bid
1.
The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a
credit from the International Development Association toward the
cost of Post-Secondary Education Project, and it intends to apply
part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract
for the supply, delivery and installation of physiology and
pathology laboratory equipment and chemicals.
2. The
Haramaya University now re-invites sealed bids from eligible and
qualified bidders for the supply, delivery and installation of
physiology and pathology laboratory equipment and chemicals.

Bids will be evaluated and contract
(s) awarded for the taking into account, discounts offered, if any,
in determining the lowest evaluated cost which will be the basis
for award of contract. However, bids not offering at least 90% of
the items for each lot will be treated as incomplete and rejected as
non-responsive unless no complete bid is received for each lot in
which case the purchaser will evaluate and award the contract (s)
for each item in the lots.
3. Bidding
will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB)
procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement
under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from
Eligible Source Counties as defined in the Guidelines.
4. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information from Haramaya
University Liaison Office, General Education Curriculum Frame Work
Development Department Building, in front of American Embassy,
Office No. 355, Tel. 0111 23 66 01 Or 23 68 12, Addis Ababa, and
inspect the Bidding Documents from 8:30 A.M. to 12:30 A.M. and 1:30
to 5:30 P.M. during working days.
5. A
complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by
interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the
address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr
300.00 or equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. The
method of payment will be in the form of cahsier’s, certified or
method of payment will be in the form of cashier’s, certified or
method of payment will be in the form of cashier’s, certified or
method of payment will be in the form of cahier’s, certified or
crossed check or a bank draft in favour of the Haramay University.
6. Bids
must be delivered to the Haramaya University Liaison Office in Addis
Ababa at the address given above at or before 9:00 A.M. on July 11,
2008. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be
rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the
bidders/representatives who choose to in person at the address given
above at 9:00 A.M on July 11, 2008. All bids must be companied by a
bid security of Birr 10,000.00 or its equivalent amount in a freely
convertible currency. |
