SUPPLY OF HAND PUMPS & SPARE PARTS
1. The
SNNP Regional Water Resource Development Bureau through the
Government of Ethiopia has received credit from the International
Development Association toward the cost of the Water Supply and
Sanitation Project and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of
this credit to payments under the Contract for Procurement of Hand
Pumps and spare parts for the Rural Water Supply Program in the
Region.
2. The
SNNP Regional Water Resources Development Bureau on now invites
sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the supply of
165 Afridev hand pumps and spare parts. Bidders must bid for all
items and full quantities. Otherwise the bid may be rejected.
3. Bidding
will be conducted through National Competitive Bidding (NCB) as
specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD
Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from eligible
source countries as defined in the Guidelines.
4. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information from the address
given below and inspect the Bidding Documents at that address from
8:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. Monday to Friday.
5. Bids
shall be valid for a period of 120 days after bid opening. Bids
should be accompanied by bid security of not less than 2% of the
total bid price in the form of bank guarantee.
6. Qualification
requirements include 1/the delivery of similar types and quantities
in the last three years, and pumps must be manufactured by companies
that have fabricated Afridev hand pumps for at least three years in
annual quantities at least five times that to be supplied under this
contract, Additional details are provided in the Bidding Documents.
7.
A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be
purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written
Application to the SNNP Regional Water Resources Development Bureau,
Procurement Department at the address given below, upon payment of
ETB 250 non-refundable fee. The method of payment will be in cash or
cheque against receipt. The Bidding Documents will be collected by a
person delegated by the bidder.
8. Bids
must be delivered to the SNNP Regional Water Resources Development
Bureau, Procurement Department, Room number 05, Hawassa City, Tel.
046-221 24 69, at or before 10:00 A.M. on of 30th day of
announcement on national news paper. Electronic bidding will not be
permitted. Late bids will be rejected.
9. Bids
will be opened in the presence of the bidders/representatives who
choose to attend in person at 2:00 P.M. on of 30th day of
announcement on national news paper at the library of SNNP Regional
Water Resources Development Bureau, Hawassa city. If there will be
public holiday on this date, the closing and opening of the bid will
take place on the next working day at the same time and the same
venue.
10. THE
SNNP Regional Water Resource Bureau reserves the right to reject all
or part of the bid.
