The Ethiopian
Electric Power Corporation (EEPCO) (hereinafter referred to as the
Corporation) issued this notice of invitation to bid: Project
Name: Gibe II-Wolaita II 400kV Power Transmission Project
(Transmission line Contract GIIW-2)
Scope
The scope of the
project comprises design, manufacture, test, supply, delivery to
site (sea and inland transportation to site of erection including
port clearances and insurance form warehouse to warehouse),
erection, test and commissioning of about 119 km of a single circuit
400Kv line from the existing Gibe II substation to the new Woliaita
II substation with OPGW having the following details:-
Line
structures including footings,
Line structure earthing,
Conductors,
insulators and fittings;
Optical fire
core shield wires and fittings;
Galvanized
steel shield wires and fittings;
Special
towers as required,
Factory
testes on the above,
Supply and
erection of the above.
Site tests,
commissioning testes and test on completion of
the above;
Only bidders, who have designed,
manufactured and supplied transmission line materials and towers at
400kV voltage level ior above will be considered qualified.
The bidder is required to arrange a
financing Scheme (the foreign currency portion) as soft loan,
supplier’s/Buyer’s Credit from its respective government and/or
financing institutions, for execution of the project under
consideration.
A technically qualified bid with
attractive financing scheme and commercial offer shall be sealed for
contract negotiation and award
The bid document in soft copy (CD)
can be collected against a non-refundable payment of Ethiopian Birr
1,000.00 (One Thousand Ethiopian Birr) from:

Bid document will be available
staring from November 13, 2008 at working days and time.
Site visit will be conducted from
December 10/11/2008 and pre-bid meeting will be held on December 12,
2008 at 14:00 hours local time (2:00 P.M.) at EEPCO club, Mexico
Square.
Offers must be delivered to the
address given Above by the January 13, 2009 at or before 12:00 hours
local time (12:00 A.M.) Late bids will be
rejected.
Offers will be
opened in the presence of bidders/representatives who choose to
attend on January 13, 2009 at 15:00 hours local time (3:00 P.M) at EEPCO’s club, Mexico
Square.
