Invitation for Bid
FOR
Ethiopian Water Supply and Sanitation Project;
Credit No. 3901-ET/Grant No. H085-ET.
1. This
invitation for Bids follows the general procurement notice for this
project that appeared in Development Business Web, Site, on August
17, 2007.
2. The
Government of Ethiopia has received a Credit/Grant from
International Development Association toward the cost of Water
Supply and Sanitation Project, and it intends to apply part of the
proceeds of this Credit/Grant to payments under the contract for
Supply of pipes and fittings.
3. Welkite
Town Water Supply and Sewerage Enterprise now invites sealed bids
from qualified eligible bidder for supply of pipes and fittings.

4. Bidding
will be conducted though the International Competitive Bidding (ICB)
procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement
under IRBD Loans and IDA Credits, and are open to all bidders from
Eligible Source Counties as defined in the Guidelines.

6. Qualifications
requirements include: For the Bidders
Bidder should have the experience on
supplying at list two contracts similar size in the last three
years, supported with names of clients, type and value of contracts.
7. A
complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by
interested bidder on the submission of a written application to the
address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of ETB 250.00
or USD 25.00. The method of payment will be in cash or cheque
against receipt.
8. Bids
must be delivered to the address below at or before 10:30 A.M.
December 24, 2008. Electronic bidding shall not be permitted. Late
bids will be rejected.
9. Bids
will be opened physically in the presence of the bidders/
representatives who choose to attend in person at the address below
before 10:30 A.M. December 24, 2008. All bids shall be accompanied
by a Bid Security of not less than 1% of the total bid price in
Ethiopian Birr or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible
currency.
