Mugher Cement
Enterprise is looking for production plant machinery suppliers for
the supply, erection, installation, commissioning and training of
owner’s personnel of the clay roof tiles and bricks manufacturing
project on joint venture partner ship or on supplier’s credit
basis/part financing or on mix of the above.
The Project will
be undertaken at Alemgenea, Oromia Region, 23 kms away from the
Capital Addis Ababa in South West direction where a suitable quality
of adequate clay raw materials reserve is found in the vicinity of
the proposed plant site and where the necessary mining license has
been secured.
The
manufacturing capacity of the envisaged project is foreseen to be
9,000 pcs/day or about, 100,000 pcs/day of different bricks.
The design of
the project is required to allow easy, flexible operation of the
plant with a view to produce various heavy clay products in
accordance with the market demand. The major products foreseen
include clay roofing tiles or different bricks as the case may be.
The product
mixes are:
a)
Interlocking Clay Roofing Tiles with its own accessories
(Marseille or French tiles, Roman or Portuguese tiles),
b)
Common and Facing Bricks
c)
Clay Hollow Blocks, and
d)
Clay Wall and Floor Tiles
The
manufacturing plant is expected to be one of the most modern plants
of its kind.
The quality of
the products is foreseen to comply with the best European standard.
The products will be designed and manufactured to have an appealing
aesthetic value’s capable to compete with European similar products.
The feasibility
study has been carried out and the venture is found to be viable.
A plant site
near by the indigenous raw materials quarry site of about 10
hectares is also obtained.
To realize this
objective, Muger Cement
Enterprise is looking for
technological equipment suppler with a, supplier’s credit or part
financing scheme, or on a joint investment partnership or on a mix
of the above. Participants who want to supply only plant machineries
& necessary equipment for the project without a financing option are
unacceptable on this bid.
The project
profile and the bid document will be obtained from procurement and
stores administration department starting from the date of November
17, 2008 during working hours on submission of written application
and up on payment of a non-refundable amount of Birr 100.00 or
equivalent amount in convertible currency.
Briefing of the
project will be conducted to potential suppliers at such a time,
which will be communicated or advised to bidders ahead of time.

Enterprise hereby invites technological equipment suppliers who have
the interest to engage themselves in the anticipate endeavor to
submit their proposals not later than February 20, 2009 at 16:00
hours local time.
The bid
documents must be accompanied by a bid security of 1% of the total
bid amount, delivered in a wax-sealed envelope, and in three sets

Bids must be
submitted in three separate Envelopes i.e. Envelope No. 1 Technical
proposal for the supply of complete technological machines,
necessary equipment and ancillary plant, provision of erection
supervision, test and commissioning, training of personnel. Envelope
No. 2 Bid security, which must be 1% of the total price indicated in
financial offer. Envelope No. 3 Financial/ Commercial proposals for
the supply of complete technological machines, necessary equipment
and ancillary plant, provision of erection supervision, test and
commissioning, training of personnel and the Proposed Financial
Package for supplier’s credit or part financing of the project with
complete details terms and conditions of financing such as interest
rate, repayment schedule etc.
Bids will be
opened on February 21, 2009 at 9:00 hours local time in the presence
of bidders or their legal representatives.
Mugher Cement
Enterprise reserves the right to reject any or all bids. After
completion of the selection of the responsive bids, Mugher Cement
Enterprise will conduct evaluation and soon after carry out
negotiation with the prospective bidder for a final modalities and
aspects of financing and contracting.
