Invitation for Bids (IFB)
Procurement of Journals
1. This
invitation for Bids follows the standard format to IFB for this
procuring in public procurement.
2. The
Procuring Entity’s budget to be used for the procurement of Journals
to the university libraries from one supplier that furnished lowest
price will sign for the next consecutive three years.
3. The
University now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified
bidders for the supply and delivery of Journals. Those bidder’s who
submit their document have to clearly identify their discount from
market price for the respective lime items in the statement of
requirement. The bidder quoting least bid price will be awarded the
contract for the supply of Journals for three (3) consecutive years
arising from this bid result.
4. Bidding
will be conducted in accordance with the open international
tendering procedures contained in the Public Procurement
Proclamation of the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of
Ethiopia and is open to all bidders from eligible source courties.
5. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information from Foreign
Purchasing. Addis Ababa University Room No. 34 and inspect the
bidding documents at the address given below from
8:00-5:00 P.M.
6. A
complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by
interested bidders at Foreign Purchasing, Addis Ababa University
Room No. 34 and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of 100 in
Ethiopian Birr. The method of payment will be in cash at the
University cash service. The bid document will be collected directly
from Foreign Purchasing, Addis Ababa University Room NO. 34.
7. Bids
must be delivered to the address below at or before 2:00 PM on
December 18, 2008. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of
30,000 in Ethiopian Birr or an equivalent amount in a freely
convertible currency. Late bids shall be rejected. Bids will be
opened in the presence of the bidders/representatives who choose to
attend at the address below at 2:30 PM. on December 18, 2008.
