The Ethiopian
Red Cross Society (ERCS) is the oldest humanitarian organization
established in 1935 GC to prevent and alleviate human suffering and
to contribute to the well being of mankind and prevalence of peace
inconformity with the Geneva Conventions and the fundamental
principles of RED CROSS Movements.
ERCS undertakes
a range of humanitarian services, community based development
initiatives and institutional capacity building. ERCS envisages
to construct a real-estate development project (multi-purpose
building complex construction in filwoha area, Addis Ababa) mean
for generation of reliable and sustainable income. The
revenue to be generated from the multi purpose Building complex will
be used to:
Cover own core costs
Respond to small scale local emergencies
Cover costs of small scale community-based
development
projects.
The construction
of the project will be in phase, phase one construction is
concerned with undertaking the construction of the concrete
structure for which this invitation to bid is issued.
ERCS invites
qualified contractors of category GC/BC class 1, having
Valid license for the year
Registration certificate for construction service
VAT registration certificate to participate in the bid
completion
1. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information and acquire the
bidding document from the office of:

2. A
complete set of bidding document can be purchased on submission of a
written application to the above office and upon payment of a
non-refundable Birr 575 until 10 days before closing date.
3. Wax-sealed
bids must be accompanied by 1% bid bond in the form of cash deposit,
CPO or bank guarantee which is payable on first written demand, but
not exceeding Birr 100,000 which shall remain in force for 120
calendar days from the bid opening date. Bids must be delivered at
the Purchasing Division, Ethiopia Red Cross Society, National
Secretariat, Addis Ababa, Ethiopian Red Cross Society, National
Secretariat, Addis Ababa, Conference Hall, before 12:00 noon on the
thirtieth day of bid announcement in The Ethiopian Herald. If the
date of submission falls on weekends (holidays), the submission date
will be the next working date maintaining the same time mentioned.
4. Bids
shall be opened on the same day in the Conference Hall of the
Ethiopian Red Cross Society, National Secretariat at
2:00 P.M. in the presence of
those bidders or their legal representatives who wish to attend.
5. The
successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond in
the sum of 10% of the bid amount.
6. The
Ethiopian Red Cross Society reserves the right to accept or reject
any or all bids.
