INVITATION FOR BIDS
RURAL ELECTRIFICATION PROJECT
SUPPLY OF DISTRIBUTION MATERIALS
Loan Number 2100150013644
1. This
invitation for bids follows the general procurement notice for this
project that appeared in United Nation Development Business, issue
no. 696, dated 16 February 2007.
2. The
Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has
received a loan from the African Development Fund towards the cost
of the Rural Electrification Project, and intends to apply part of
the proceeds of the loan to cover eligible payments under the
contracts for the supply of Distribution Materials. Bidding is open
to all bidders from eligible member counties as defined in the ADB’s
Rules of Procedure for the Procurement of Goos and Works.
3. The
Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation now invites sealed bids from
prospective bidders for one or more of the following lots:
ADBII 1//1 Lot 1
Supply of LV and MV
Switchgears
ADBII 1/01 Lot 2 Supply of Stay Roads and
Accessories
ADBII 1/01 Lot 3 Supply of Service Connection
Cables
ADBII 1/01 Lot 4 Supply of Medium Voltage
Steel Poles
4. Bidding
will be conducted though the international competitive bidding
procedures specified in the African Development Bank Group “Rules of
Procedures for Procurement of Goods and Works” and are open to all
bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the Rules.

6. Complete
set of bidding documents in English may be purchased from the above
office upon payment of a non-refundable fee of 1000.00 (One
Thousand) Birr in local currency per lot. Or its equivalent in a
freely convertible currency. for each set.
7. Bids
must be delivered to the above office on or before 113:30 hours
local time on 23 January 2009 and must be accompanied by a
security of USD 40,000.00 (United State Dollar Forty
Thousand) for Lot 1, USD 40,000.00 (United States Dollar
Forty Thousand) for Lot 2, USD 10,000.00 (United States
Dollar Ten Thousand) for Lot 3 and USD 700,000.00 (United
States Dollar Seven Hundred Thousand) for Lot 4 or equivalent amount
in a freely convertible currency.
8. Bids
will be opened in the presence of bidders/representatives who choose
to attend at 14:00 hour’s local time on 23 January 2009 at the
address below.
