North Wollo Zone, Habru Woreda,
Gorabra and Burqa village Water Supply and Sanitation Hygiene
Project Invitation No.
1. The
government of Ethiopia has received financing from the World Bank
towards the cost of water supply and sanitation Hygiene Program and
intends to apply part of the proceeds for Gorarba and Burqa villages
rural piped water supply sanitation project by National Competitive
Bidding /NCB/ under the contract PRS/001/2008 terms and conditions.
2. The
client, Amhara National Regional State Water Resources Development
Bureau now invites sealed bids from qualified and eligible bidders
having grade 6 GC and above with renewed water works licenses from
the Ministry of Water Resources, renewed trade/contract license, in
land revenue for the year 2008/2009 and VAT registration Certificate
to implement Gorarba and Burqua village Rural Water Supply and
Sanitation Project.
The Project
Encompasses:
I.
Construction of 50 m3 water collection chamber
II.
Construction two service reservoirs with a capacity of 75 m3
reservoirs
III.
Construction one standard generator & pump house
IV.
Construction of 11 public fountains with 6 faucets
V.
Supply and lay about 6,200 m class B, GI pipeline with
necessary fittings and valves.
VI.
Supply and Installation of surface centrifugal pump and
Generator
VII. Protect
form flooding, fence and sanitize already tapped springs as required
VIII. Commission
and Hand Over the project to the community
3. The
location of the project is in Amhara region, North Wollo Zone, Habru
Woreda, Gorarba and Burqa villages which is at about 25 km from
Mersa town.
4. Bidding
will be conducted though the National Competitive Bidding (NCB)
procedures specified in the World Bank’s procurement guidelines
under IDA credits/grants and is open to all eligible national
contactors as defined in the guidelines.
5. The
interested contactors has to provide information, available
construction tools such as, Vibrator, Mixer etc. and Vehicle;
experience in similar project, available skilled, and semi skilled
man power and other relevant information as specified in the bid
document.
6. The
interested bidders will be requested to offer technical and
financial proposals separately as specified in the bid documents to
be provided.
7. Bids
must be accompanied by bid security of not less than 1% of the total
bid price in unconditional Bank guarantee or CPO or cash. They shall
deliver to Amhara National Regional State Water Resources
Development Bureau Regional Wash Program Coordination Unit, Room No.
02, Bahirdar. Electronic bidding will not be permitted and late bids
will be rejected. Bids shall be valid for period of 90 days after
bid opening.
8. A
complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased
directly form Amhara National Regional State Water Resources
Development Bureau, Regional Wash Program Coordination Unit, Room
No. 02 Bahirdar, upon payment of a non-refundable fee ETB 200 (Two
Hundred Ethiopian Birr) from the date of first announcement of this
notice on The Ethiopian Herald in office hours for 30 consecutive
calendar days.
9. Bids
shall be opened in the presence of official representatives of the
bidders, who wish to attend at the next Government working day
flowing bid-closing date at 8:30 A.M. local time at the office of:
Amhara National Regional State Water Resources Development Bureau,
Bahir Dar Ethiopia. Interested applicants may obtain fur the
information during office hours at the office of Amhara National
Regional State Water Resources Development Bureau, Regional Wash
Program Coordination unit.
10. The
Bureau reserves the right to accept or reject all or parts of the
bid, and to annual the bidding process.
