The Deutsche Gesellschaft fur
Technische Zusammenarbiet (GTZ Office, Addis Ababa) desires to
create a pool of potential Professional consultants that can be
contracted on call for future energy sector activities in Ethiopia.
The GTZ Office Addis Ababa,
therefore, invites eligible and competent people or firms to submit
their application together with their company profile and other
supporting documents, as indicated below:
The Potential consultant should
submit:
1. Proven
reputation in the energy sector in Ethiopia. A company profile with
achievement detail (output results/ track record).
2. Specific
indication of expertise and most preferred sectors of consultancy
work. i.e. engineering (what sectors), economic (feasibilities,
market analysis)/ commercial (feasibilities)/ social (statistical)
research/ management, technology development etc.
3. In
a separate envelop, provisional tariff setting (dated and for
experts tariffs only) and the overhead charge as percentage of the
potential project costs.
4. A
max. 3 page written vision on either one of the following subjects/
questions:
The benefits of a Feed- in law (for
private power delivery to the electricity grid), for Ethiopia’s
economy and the private sector.
Potential governmental management
structure for he development and implementation of the bio fuel
sector
What is the most realistic &
sustainable “non wood” option for cooking (household/ institutional)
and how should it be organized/ financed on a short/medium terms?
What in your view as a next best
option or alternative for a workshop or conference in order to raise
awareness, knowledge transfer and pushing on implementation
dynamics.
The applicants will receive a
feedback on the final selection including arguments. A very
important selection criterion is the (English) quality of written
communication/reporting, as revealed in the vision document (item 4
above).
