1. This
Invitation of Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this
project that appeared in Development Business, issue no. Date
August 17, 2009.
2. The
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a credit from
the International Development Association (IDA) towards the cost of
urban Water Supply and Sanitation Project and it intends to apply
part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the contract
for the
Lot 1: Supply Water Meter and
Accessories
Lot 2: Supply and Installation of Water Meter
Test Bench
Lot 3: Supply of Laboratory Equipments and
Water Quality Testing
Chemicals
3. Jimma
Town Water Supply & Sewerage Service Enterprise now invites sealed
bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the supply of Water
Meter test bench and Laboratory equipments of Water quality testing
chemicals.
4. Bidding
will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB)
procedures specified in the World Bank Guidelines; Procurement under
IBRD Loans and IDA credits, and is open to all bidders from Eligible
Sources as Countries as defined in the Guidelines. Bidders may bid
one or more lots. Evaluation of bids and award of contract will be
made in a lot by lots basis.
5. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information from Jimma Town
Water Supply & Sewrage Service Enterprise (JTWSSSE) and inspect the
bidding documents at the address given below from 8:30 – 12:00 A.M.
and 1:30 P.M. – 5:30 P.M.
6. Qualification
requirements include, have to demonstrate that the supplier has
successfully undertaken two similar contracts with in the last five
years, and has annual turnover of at least average 1/4th
the amount of his total bid price. A margin of preference for
certain goods manufactured domestically shall be applied. Additional
details are provided in the bidding documents.
7. A
complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by
interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the
address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 200.
The method of payment will be cashier’s check. The bidding document
will be sent by courier services.
8. Bids
must be delivered to the address below at 8:30 P.M 3, August 2009
Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will rejected.
Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidder’s representatives
who choose to attend in person or on-line at the address below at
8:30 P.M. 3 August 2009. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid
Security not less than 2% of bid prices or an equivalent amount in
freely convertible currency.
