1. This
Specific procurement Notice follows the General procurement Notice
for this project that appeared in Development Business No.592 of
October 16, 2002.
2. The
Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia as
received a loan from the African Development Fund in the amount of
UA 19,890,000 towards he cost of Harar Water Supply and Sanitation
project and intends to apply part of the proceeds of the loan to
cover eligible payments under the contract for the construction of
Administration Building. Bidding is open to all local bidders who
has GC/BC 5and above construction licenses bidders from eligible
member countries as defined in the ADB’s Rules of procedure for the
procurement of Goods and Works.
3. The
Ministry of Water Resources now invites sealed bids from eligible
bidders for the construction of an administrative compound including
administration building, work shop, and store Domestic bidders shall
be in the category of GC/BC5 and registered with the Government of
Ethiopia.
4. Complete
sets of bidding documents (and additional copies) may be purchased
at the address indicated below upon payment of a non-refundable fee
of Birr 500.00(Five Hundred Birr Only) or its equivalent in a freely
convertible currency, payable to Ministry of Water Resources, Harar
Town Water Supply and Sanitation project Commercial Bank of
Ethiopian Finfinne Branch, A/C No.4461/0172006479100, for each set.
Interested bidders may obtain further information and inspect the
documents at the same address

5. The
Instruction to Bidders and General Conditions of Contract contained
in the bidding documents comply with the Bank’s standard Bidding
Documents for the procurement of works.
Bids shall be
valid for a period of 120 days after Bid opening and must be
accompanied by a bid security of Birr 120,000.00(One Hundred Twenty
Thousands Birr) or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency,
and shall be delivered to the above office on or before 2:30P.M.
Local time on May 4, 2009. Bids will be opened in the presence of
the bidders who choose to attend at Ministry of Water Resources,
Contract Administration, Room No.211, at 3:00 P.M. on the same date
